I used the NGM model/analysis, which is a low resolution model for the
U.S.
The choice of the model is due to the fact that it is the only one
archived back to 1996 on their site.
Because this model is fairly low resolution, I have only selected a
couple of profiles from each flight.
Trajectories that extend to the west of a north/south line (shown
here) get cut off since the model grid doesn't extend far over the
Pacific Ocean.
Other studies' Pacific Ocean trajectories have been based on the ECMWF
model, which I would like to do in the future.
