Shown below is a time series of sea level pressure from NDBC buoys for the month of June. The color indicates the buoy, whose locations are plotted on the graph below.
The data is unfiltered, so the strong diurnal cycle is clear. However notice the tendancy for a downcoast pressure gradient, with the buoy off of Cape Mendicino (shown in purple) tending to record higher pressures than the buoy to the south of Point Sur (shown in red).
